We were delighted that our attendance for 2018-2019 was 95% just in line with national expectations.

If a child is unwell we expect parent/carer’s to contact the school. If there is no message from home our receptionist/attendance officer will call to ensure that your child is safe.

When a child’s attendance is below 95%, they are put onto our attendance monitoring schedule. First parents are given a warning letter, then a first attendance target, followed by a second attendance target and ultimately referred to the educational welfare officer (EWO).

As well as attending school it is important to arrive on time so that children do not miss out on learning If a child misses the first session at school they will be marked as absent for the morning.

Each week we celebrate attendance in our birthday assembly. The percentage of attendance is read out for each class and the classes who achieve 95% or above win a class star. This class star goes towards a class treat which the children choose (see the Behaviour policy). The class with the highest attendance keeps our new, large attendance bear for the week.
