We are currently in the process of introducing OPAL – Outdoor Play and Learning across the school.

OPAL is an approach that helps schools make the very best use of their outdoor spaces and gives children a wider range of opportunities for creative, active and imaginative play.

As we develop our OPAL provision, children will have increasing opportunities to explore, build, create, problem-solve and play collaboratively using a variety of resources and areas around the school grounds. This supports not only physical development, but also communication, confidence, independence, resilience and positive relationships.

We believe that high-quality play is an important part of children’s development and learning. Our aim is to create an outdoor environment where children can make choices, take appropriate risks, develop their own ideas and enjoy purposeful, engaging play throughout the school day.

The introduction of OPAL will take place gradually as we develop our outdoor areas, resources and routines. We look forward to sharing this journey with our children and families as our play provision continues to grow.
