Busy Learning with Parents

Busy Learning Morning in Nursery and Reception

This week, we were delighted to welcome parents into our Nursery and Reception classes for a special Busy Learning Morning. It was a wonderful opportunity for families to see first-hand how our youngest children learn through exploration, talk and hands-on experiences.

From the moment the doors opened, classrooms were filled with purposeful activity. Parents joined their children at the creative area, explored mark-making and early writing and built collaboratively in the construction area. Outside, our mud kitchens and investigation areas were just as busy, with children developing language, problem-solving and teamwork skills through play.

Busy Learning is at the heart of our school curriculum. Rather than sitting at desks for long periods, children learn by doing — talking through their ideas, experimenting with materials, practising new vocabulary and applying skills in meaningful contexts. It was lovely to hear children confidently explaining their learning and proudly sharing their achievements with their families.

Thank you to all the parents who attended and supported the morning. Your partnership makes a real difference. We look forward to welcoming you into school again soon to see Busy Learning in action!
