Reception visit Bocketts Farm

Reception’s Wonderful Visit to Bocketts Farm

Reception had an unforgettable day out at Bocketts Farm, blessed with glorious weather and plenty of exciting activities.

The day began in the Discovery Barn, where the children were thrilled to meet a range of farm animals, including newborn lambs, piglets, and a calf. A highlight was learning that a baby alpaca is called a cria — a fascinating new fact for everyone!

The adventure continued with a scenic tractor ride around the farm. Along the way, we spotted a herd of deer and were delighted to see two tiny, one-week-old Shetland foals.

In the afternoon, the children explored ‘Little Hoppington’, where they had the opportunity to gently stroke a chicken, a guinea pig, and a wonderfully soft Rex rabbit.

It was a fantastic day full of hands-on learning, discovery, and plenty of smiles — a perfect way to bring our learning to life!
