Year 1 Trip to Reading Museum
Year 1 had a very exciting day at Reading Museum...
We became history detectives and followed an artefact trail, ticking off the different historical objects and beautiful tapestries we discovered along the way. We carefully examined the names and dates of past battles, learning more about life long ago.
In the afternoon, we took part in a Victorian school workshop. We were amazed to learn that poor children often went to school without shoes and that the teachers were very strict! We practised writing our names and numbers to ten using chalk and a slate, and sat so quietly we could hear the ticking of the grandfather clock.
After a long coach ride back to school, we shared our favourite parts of the day and discussed all the fascinating things we had seen and learnt.
