RNLI visit Year 2
Year 2 had a visit from the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institute)
The volunteers who visited, talked to the children about where the lifeboat stations are located- which is 237 in total across UK and Ireland and at four locations on the River Thames.
They talked to them about the type of boat they use, the special clothing they have to wear and they demonstrated how quick they need to get to an emergency if they were at home and received a call.
The children were also taught about water safety and what to do if they or anyone else was in danger whilst in water and also to look out for certain flags that are put up on beaches.
