September 2015

Year 2 have been learning about the Rugby World Cup, looking at flags and locating countries in an atlas. In maths they measured themselves against Chris Robshaw the England rugby captain. Year 2 and Year 1, then enjoyed a Rugby Workshop paid for out of the Sport Premium budget.

The workshop aimed to give all the children in KS1 the opportunity to experience Rugby and hopefully inspire an interest in the sport.  They learnt  2 of the values that are important to  rugby- Respect and Discipline.

The children thoroughly enjoyed playing games which promoted ball handling skills as well as learning to dodge and spin to avoid being caught. Also they had an insight in to the high levels of fitness required to play the sport!
