KS1 teacher for 2 days a week to allow class teacher to come out of class and specifically target PPG children in reading, phonics, writing and maths.  Support provided for Year 1 and Year 2 children.

 

 

All PPG children are supported in ensure that they make at least typical progress in reading, writing and maths.  Also so they can have the essential skills to pass the phonics check.

 

 

 

 

At the end of Year 2 in reading 80% of PPG children achieved at least expected with 44% achieving at Greater Depth.  In writing 80% achieved at least expected with 24% achieving Greater Depth.  In maths 80% achieved at least expected while 24% achieved Greater Depth.  In Year 1 78% of PPG children achieved the phonics test.

EYP for 1 day a week to allow Reception class teachers to come out of class and specifically target PPG children.

At the end of Reception 85% PPG children achieved a Good Level of Development.

Targeted support for reading, writing and mathematics in year 1 and 2 from teacher support and teaching assistants (25% of costs).

Children with low attainment, or making less than expected progress, are given additional targeted support by a teacher and /or  teaching assistants in all so that the children can make rapid progress.

Future Action Steps

  • Continue to identify children in Nursery and provide support according to need.
  • Continue to identify disadvantaged children in Reception and Key Stage 1
  • To increase the number of disadvantaged children exceeding the ELG in Reception.
  • To increase the number of disadvantaged children working at expectations for Year 1 and Year 2.
