Profile:

I am a Parent Governor and currently Chair of Governors. I joined the Governing Body during my son’s first year at school in Reception at Feltham Hill Infant and Nursery. I decided to put myself forward for Parent Governor as I could see the great potential in the school and was incredibly interested in how they approached ensuring success for all children through interactive learning.

I bring with me experience in education as a Secondary School teacher in the local area. I visit and keep in contact with the school regularly and pupil achievement and happiness and safety is certainly what drives the work of the Senior Leadership Team and Governors.

Profile:

I have been a co-opted Governor since 2014.  I am a widower with 2 children and 2 grandchildren. I retired after a career in the civil service, in the financial services sector, and latterly as a non executive director in the NHS.  After I retired I wanted to undertake a voluntary role in which I could make use of my experience of committee work in a number of different organisations. I am delighted to do so in FHIN which is a real centre of excellence with extremely capable and inspirational staff, and with happy and well motivated children.

Profile:

I have recently retired after over thirty years spent in education. My career began as a secondary school teacher in London and finished as an Interim Head, with a teaching commitment, in a small infant school near Staines. After retiring I still felt a close connection with infant/primary education and when asked to become a governor here at Feltham Hill Infant and Nursery…I said YES! Over ten years ago I worked as a supply teacher at FHIN; it was a friendly, caring learning environment for everyone. I believe, as I have for my whole working life, that working with children (whatever the role) is a huge privilege.

Life is short and precious, we must all make the most of each and every opportunity we are given. All children deserve the very best quality experiences in order that they can have a happy, safe and successful life. Governors must work alongside the talented staff at the school, plus every family and the local community to achieve this. However we must also be strategic ‘critical friends’ asking challenging questions to guarantee ‘quality provision’ and the development of the whole child throughout their time here.   Our areas of expertise as governors blend together well with that of the school and we all contribute to the ‘vision’ for Feltham Hill Infant and Nursery now and in the future.

Profile:

I recently joined the Governing Body after my son joined the Nursery at Feltham Hill Infant and Nursery. After offering my services to audit the PTA fund, I decided to step forward as a Governor and volunteer my time to make a positive contribution to children's education and life chances, by supporting the work of the staff and Senior Leadership Team.

I bring with me financial experience in Local Authority and Academy establishments, working previous as a School Business Manager in a LA maintained Special School, and more currently, as a Finance Officer in a Multi-Academy Trust. I have just completed my first Governors day and have been completely bowled over by the success and achievement of all of the children that attend FHI&N, and moreover by the dedication and drive of the staff to fulfil each and every child's full potential. Well done and keep up the good work!!

Profile:

I joined the Governing Body as a Parent Governor many years ago. When my term of office expired after my children had finished in the infant school I became a Co-opted Governor. I now have twin Grandchildren who have just started in the nursery so still have a very strong interest in the school.

I have been on various training courses to help me with my Governance, and represent our Governing Body on the Hounslow schools Governing Body Association (HSGBA).‚Äč
