We started off our term learning about the book ‘Room on the broom’ by Julia Donaldson. We wrote lots of spooky spells in our witch and wizard role play area. We had to count out the right number of ingredients for our potions. We then focused on dragons and read the book ‘Zog’. While we were at home a dragon had made a big mess in our classroom. We followed the footprints and found out that he had been eating lots of things made out of metal. We loved using the magnets to find other things around the classroom made of metal for him to eat. We learnt about the different materials that things are made from.
We really enjoyed a visit from the tropical zoo where we got to find out about a variety of different reptiles including snakes, bearded dragons and lizards!
We have been very busy this half term in Giraffe Class. We have been learning all about our class animals that live in Africa. We painted some fantastic Giraffes and really enjoyed busy learning with the Africa small world. We even had Earthsong come to visit us and we learnt to play lots of different African instruments. We loved playing the drums!
Outside we are starting to notice some of the signs of autumn and are enjoying picking up leaves with the litter pickers and putting them in the wheel barrows. We are really looking forward to going on our autumn walk to the park!
