Bluebird Class Curriculum 2016-2017

The Bluebird Class curriculum reflects the Early Years Foundation Stage in the mainstream school.  Learning opportunities are differentiated to suit each child and reflect the advice given from speech therapists and occupational therapists.

  1. learn about cultural traditions by helping to make pancakes and take part in a musical workshop about Chinese New Year.

  1. mixing colours on ice.
  2. Role-play stories such as, Goldilocks and the three bears.

 

 

 

Autumn Term 2

The children will be learning to:

  2. learn the feelings song.

1. Put on their coat using the 'flip approach'.

2. Throw and catch large and small balls.

  1. join in with repeated refrains in stories.
  2. anticipate what will happen next in a story.
  3. speak in simple sentences using SVO.

  Literacy
  1. identify front cover.
  2. talks about the picture.
Mathematics  
  1. count on from a given number to 10.
  2. respond to "give 3 pens please" using a varitiey of objects in a variety of situations.

  Understanding the world

  1. show an interest in Halloween, Christmas and the celebrations around it.
Expressive Arts and Design  
  1. sing familiar songs.
