Earth Song- A multicultural music workshop

This week our Early Years children had a visit from Earth Song for a 'Round the World' multicultural music workshop. This was an interactive class session for the children where they saw and played many different kinds of instruments including antique ones. The children learnt about where the instruments come from and even how some of them are made, such as the drums! Also in the workshop, children took part in a rhythm games session- with full size drums and then did some movement work, responding to different patterns of music.

Children saw instruments such as the Sitar from India, the Bala (xylophone) from Africa, the Cheung (harp) from China and the Yidaki (didgeridoo) from Australia.

A very informative and enjoyable workshop indeed!
